Welcome to Lake Garda Exclusively
Finding your Lake Garda apartment, villa or hotel, plus car hire, tourist information and more.
Lake Garda often referred to as Garda Lake, is the largest Lake in Italy, close to the Swiss border, situated midway between Venice and Milan. The area is served by a number of different airports and airlines in the region including Ryanair, Easyjet and Jet2 and has some great accommodation including hotels, apartments and villas, and you can even stay in a former monastery!
Lake Garda and the towns around the lake are outstandingly beautiful and picturesque, offering a visitor an amazing choice of places to see and things to do. From incredibly picturesque towns such as Sirmione, Lazise or Salo, which can be visited by road or by paddle steamer, to golf courses, sailing, cycling and water sports, not to mention two very Italian Theme parks, Gardaland and Movie Studios Park.
Lake Garda is divided into four distinct areas each with its own distinctive ambience, attractions and individuality. Lake Garda has many surprises. You can see all of the lakeside towns, apartments, hotels as well as many of the attractions by clicking on one of the main buttons above or searching our Interactive Map.
South East Lake Garda is for families and features the Themeparks, the Zoo, museums as well as the wonderfully attractive towns of Garda, Bardolino, Lazise and Sirmione. With Sirmione also having two Health Spas and its own Roman Villa.
The South West is more lively around Desenzano, yet incredibly tranquil around San Felice, Salo and at Winston Churchill's famous holiday resort Gardone Riviera. There is also some excellent outlet shopping in this region.
North East Lake Garda is more mountainous and there is a great cable car to the top of the mountain at Malcesine, all of the sailing and windsurfing takes place at Torbole and Riva with Riva also offering some excellent shopping.
Finally the North West of Lake Garda is mountainous with the mountains reaching right down to the lakeside at the picturesque town of Limone. With Gargnano and Toscolano-Maderno also being attractive little towns, with lovely nature parks nearby.
With budget air travel increasing in popularity and Ryanair, Easy Jet and Jet 2 all flying into the Lombardy and Veneto Region, more and more people are now choosing to book their own flights, self catering accommodation, hotels and car hire and having a great holiday at a much lesser cost than with a package holiday. So just browse this site and choose what you would like to build your perfect Lake Garda vacation, whether that is for a family holiday, a luxury holiday apartment or a Last Minute discounted hotel, visit a Spa or just simply looking for tourist information. The site has been written by people who have been to Lake Garda, who know it and appreciated what they saw!

Making a Booking
You want to know that your payments are secure. When you make a booking for car rental, a hotel, travel insurance or airport car parking, payment is made online via a well established third party company such as Auto Europe, who operate that service and your money is accepted subject to the security offered by that company's individual terms of service. All of our partner
companies are established and respected names within the travel industry. When booking an apartment, an initial deposit is paid which includes this company's booking fee, this deposit is held in a dedicated accou
nt and not accessed by the company until after you return from your holiday. A second payment of around 20% is made by you direct to the apartment provider in Italy and the final (largest) payment is made when you arrive in Italy for yo
ur holiday. In addition, if you pay by credit card, your payments will also be guaranteed by your credit card provider according to their individual terms and conditions.
Getting to Garda Lake
Airports
Lake Garda is reached via six main airports served by many budget, scheduled and charter airlines including Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet 2 and British Airways.
Verona Catullo Airport is about 25 minutes away by car/taxi and is served by scheduled and charter airlines including British Airways.
Verona Brescia Airport (Ryanair) is 50 minutes by car
Milan Bergamo Airport (Ryanair, Jet 2) is 60-90 minutes by car
Milan Linate Airport (Ryanair) is about 2 hours by car
Venice Marco Polo Airport (Easyjet) is about 90-120 minutes by car
Venice Treviso Airport (Ryanair) is two to two and a half hours by car
For all of the airports apart from Verona Catullo, our advice would be to rent a car or use an airport transfer service as taxis are expensive for journeys over an hour in length. Lake Garda Exclusively can organise airport transfers to Sirmione, Bardolino, Pacengo, Cola and Lazise when an apartment is booked. But for upwards of four people our advice would be to consider renting a car. The journey is very straightforward for most of the airports other than from Venice Treviso which requires a small degree of map reading or Tom-Tom! If you are staying overnight close to an airport, please checkout our Airport Hotels.
Driving in Northern Italy
Contrary to the Italian stereotype, once you have a hire car driving in Northern Italy is very well mannered and remarkably easy. In fact, it is considerably less aggressive than driving in the UK. (It does help to remember to drive on the right though!). Click Here for Lake Garda car hire quotations.
Trains in Italy
Trains are generally inexpensive and reliable in Italy. Some guests do travel to Lake Garda by train from the UK, but this is a long journey! The two main railway stations are Peschiera and Desenzano. Also checkout Trenitalia, the Italian National railway service. You can even travel by motorail to Verona or Bolsano from Dusseldorf with the German railway system DB.
