Sirmione is truly one of the most wonderful experiences Lake Garda has to offer and a lovely place to own a Lake Garda apartment.  The old town is situated at the end of a 2km long peninsula which juts out from the centre of the Southern shore of Lake Garda.  You enter Sirmione through the historic walls and an ancient fortified bridge with a drawbridge nearby leading to the historical centre of Sirmione where the cobbled narrow streets, open out into many, pretty little piazzas with gelateries, shops, art galleries, bars, pizzerias and restaurants with many of the shops selling jewellery and designer clothing. 

The Grotte di Catullo is a first century Roman Villa is at Sirmione, which also has fantastic views of the lake.  And even the little electric road train that takes you there is fun!   There is also the world famous Thermal Spa (Terme Catullo) which is very popular with visitors and locals.
